radio silence

I wrote off my novel. Bad investment, fit only for the trunk, no point throwing good time after bad. Right now I don't even want to see that pile of trash again.

So if I spend another week hiding in my room, watching TV marathons and feeling miserable, please forgive me. At the moment I can't remember why I ever enjoyed writing.

  1. Para, I believe you are a skillful and intelligent writer who will make it through this rough patch. I believe in you. :) Take a break - you deserve it.

  2. I agree with Emilia!

Take a break. You are awesome and definitely deserve it.

You are seriously one of the best writers with the best advice. Believe in your knowledge and your amazing talent.

  3. I agree with the Emilia and Amna, you'll make it through this with you coming out of it a better writer and your book will emerge to be a better novel.

I mean, hey, you've been there before. Multiple times. And look at all that you've done with this novel alone. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I really enjoyed reading it and liked what you have told me about the changes you want to make. That's why I'm sure that once you get over the "all my writing should be burned in a blazing bonfire of writerly frustration" all will be well. We all get those after all.

    *hug*

  4. Aww, I'm sorry to hear this, Para. Even though I only read the first chapter, it seemed so promising. But I trunked my first one too and I get your cost / benefit analysis (one of my favorite accounting concepts).

Hopefully your NaNo novel about the short warrior woman (sorry, that's all I remember from reading your query draft, but it stuck with me) will yield something you're happier with.
